Our words for the week of August 16, 2010

PLEASE READ THE DIRECTIONS CAREFULLY!!
1. Read the vocabulary words from our read aloud (listed below)
2. Read the definition and example sentence carefully. Make sure you understand the information!
3. Research the words on www.dictionary.com to get a SYNONYM AND ANTONYM for each word.
4. Click on the comments section and enter the synonym and antonym. Also provide a sentence that demonstrates the meaning of each word.

The words are:
A. compiling (compile): verb- to produce by assembling or putting together

B. calamity: noun- an event that causes sudden change or damage
Mrs. Patterson, once again calm in the face of calamity, didn't lose her composure. (p.43 Fire from the Rock)
